Respiratory distress syndrome in children, or “shock” lung, is a symptom complex that develops after stress, shock.
Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is one of the serious problems that doctors face nursing preterm infants. Respiratory distress syndrome in children can develop in children of any age, even in the first months of life against a background of decompensated shock, sepsis, but this diagnosis is rarely established in children, treating the detected clinical and radiological changes in the lungs as pneumonia.
Diagnosis of respiratory distress syndrome is carried out in maternity hospitals. The basis for treating children with RDS is the technique of “minimal touch”, the child should receive only necessary procedures and manipulations. One of the methods of treatment of the syndrome is intensive respiratory therapy, various types of artificial ventilation.
