Pediculosis is a parasitic disease of the skin and hair, if lice and nits are found in themselves, children or their loved ones, it is immediately necessary to begin its treatment at the same time for all members of the family.
Depending on the type of louse that has chosen a body, pediculosis is head, clothing, pubic. Not all drugs are equally effective against different parasites at the same time.
Today there is a wide variety of all kinds of medicines for pediculosis: shampoos, aerosols (sprays) and lotions, special ointments, creams, gels, solutions, powders.
Shampoos are accustomed to using, but not as effective as it seems – the specific composition does not allow the hair to soak to kill all the lice at a time, so almost always, within seven days, a relapse occurs and their repeated use is required.
Gels, ointments, lotions, solutions, including in the form of an aerosol, allow more careful treatment of the surface of the head, but at the same time, the amount of the drug applied increases, which often leads to skin allergic reactions.
Natural and synthetic insecticides make almost all medicinal, pharmaceutical preparations against head lice: permethrin, pyrethrin, malathion, phenothrin, sumithrin.
